MANIAX Axe Throwing located in Northbridge, Perth offers a unique and fun experience for groups of friends or corporate functions.
So what exactly is MANIAX Axe Throwing? Well, it’s exactly what it sounds like! Guests are given the opportunity to throw axes at targets in a safe and controlled environment.
Not only is it a great way to let off some steam, but it’s also a great bonding experience for groups of friends or colleagues.
As axe throwers must be 13 years or over it makes a great option for a teen birthday party. Participants aged 13-17 will require a responsible adult onsite for the duration of their visit, in addition to a waiver signed by their parent or guardian.
You can walk in or book ahead online. They recommend booking ahead so you don’t miss out, as it can get quite busy, especially on the weekends.
There are heaps of different packages on their website which range from a quick axe-throwing session to events and parties.
We did an hour session which was just enough time for us. There were 5 of us and we had 2 lanes. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, especially since it was our first time throwing axes. They explained the basics of axe throwing and how to stand, grip and release the axe for maximum accuracy. After a few practice throws, we were ready to compete against each other.
Axe throwing is for anyone. It is all about technique and accuracy, strength has very little to do with it! They have a range of axes in a variety of sizes and weights, so there will be a perfect fit for everyone. Closed-toed shoes must be worn at all times when participating in axe-throwing. If you forget to bring enclosed shoes, they have some gumboots for you to wear.
There are no onsite kitchens at the venue, but their catering partners are able to source pizzas, burgers, slow-roasted meats etc but you’ll need to organise directly this with them at least a week in advance. There is however chocolate, snacks and packets of chips available for purchase at the venue.
MANIAX is a licensed venue and you can not BYO. You are not able to drink before or during axe throwing but you are able to purchase alcoholic drinks after your axe-throwing session. You can not attend your session under the influence of alcohol or you will not be permitted to participate.
Axe throwing is a great way to relieve stress, have fun, and bond with friends, family – especially teens – or colleagues. So if you’re looking for something different and exciting to do in Perth, be sure to check out MANIAX Axe Throwing! It’s definitely an experience you won’t forget any time soon!
