Cave’s Road spot, Cheeky Monkey Brewery and Cidery, has been a Margaret River family favourite for over a decade. It is a great place to stop off with the kids, mainly as there is so much for the kiddos to explore. A shaded playground and newer nature play area will keeps the kiddos entertained for hours! The playground is sand-based and well equipped catering for children of all ages.
There’s a toddler/kindy area too, with play equipment lower to the ground for those with little legs.
A newer wooden fort is great for older kids and is sure to inspire lots of imaginative play.
You’ll find a wide range of seating options – Cheeky Monkey is huge! A covered alfresco area overlooks the dam (be mindful of little ones) or pick a cosy spot indoors by the open fire in winter.
If you fancy a drink, Cheeky Monkey serves six beers, plus ginger beer and cider on tap. Cheers to that.
We didn’t have lunch on our visit to Cheeky Monkey, but their menu consists of a range of pub-style favourites. Think burgers, tacos and share food. There’s a kid’s menu which includes fish & chips, or pasta, or chicken bites & chips served with juicebox. Good to see a healthier option is included too with the kids “picnic basket” consisting of veg sticks, fruit, popcorn, cheese and a juice.
If beer doesn’t float your boat, the spot is also home to the Di Latte Estate cellar door, featuring wines and spirits.
Opened way back in May 2012, Cheeky Monkey is still a firm favourite with families visiting the Margaret River region.
