New in the neighbourhood is Lollipop’s Playland and Cafe Wanneroo! Situated on Wanneroo Road, just 7 minutes from Lakeside Joondalup, it is a fresh-faced, local spot to meet a friend for a coffee and let the kids run off some energy.
There is ample parking in the car park (shared with adjoining shops); however only a few spots directly in front of the Lollipop’s entry, so bear this in mind if you need to walk with multiple children.
As you go in, there is a great and busy atmosphere, with a funky soundtrack of kids’ songs and family dance hits. There is plenty of seating in front of the play areas. If you go at a busy time, this area gets very crowded. However, seating stretches around, behind the ‘big kid’ play area, to the climbing wall and pirate ship.
The pirate ship ride and jungle-themed climbing wall are two of the many fun elements at Lollipop’s Wanneroo.
There’s also a ball bit, trampoline, three-lane slide, bouncy castle with a slide, massive multi-level climbing area with obstacles, arcade-style games (to be paid for), TVs playing kids’ favourite TV shows, and an ‘observation bubble’ up in the play area overlooking the cafe – perfect for hungry kiddos picking out what to have for lunch!
There is also a lovely and spacious under 3’s area, including a ball pit, soft play blocks, a fascinating ‘waterfall’ slide, a musical piano mat and a larger twin slide.
Toilets (and one baby change/family toilet) are located towards the back of the centre, alongside the freshly decorated party rooms (great if you have any Dinosaur, Pirate, Fairy or Space-loving little ones with an upcoming birthday!).
The extensive cafe menu includes breakfast items (‘Lollipop’s Big Breakfast’, anyone?), the usual favourites, and salads, pizzas and wraps. The drinks menu also extends to blended fruit juices such as ‘tropical passion’ and ‘green goddess’ – yum.
The ball machines (you know, the ones with all the crazy buttons that make balls go flying everywhere) were mostly out of action, pending the arrival of some replacements, however there is still plenty of fun to be had in the rest of the centre.
All in all, Lollipop’s Wanneroo is a great option for the weather extremes of winter (and summer!) to get the kids running, climbing, bouncing and happily munching. Sit down with a coffee while the kids play at Lollipop’s!
Don’t forget to give them a follow on Facebook to keep up to date with their school holiday events, special offers and competitions.
