As a mum who is conscious of her spending but also enjoys a coffee, I love to find a cafรฉ that can keep me caffeinated and my kids happy. So, kid-friendly spaces are my go-to. This cafรฉ tucked away in the IGA car park of Quinns is a great place to hide away for a warm coffee while the kids play especially this winter.
With a secure and completely undercover outdoor space, you can be outside but out of the rain. With plenty of seating and space for prams, it’s an idle spot to stop for a bite to eat, a coffee and chat, or just a quick break.
The space is popular with locals, so I recommend coming around 9 a.m. while the toys are still organized. Hopefully, some other children will be there for your kids to play and enjoy the space together.
The toys are a bit of a mixed-match collection, but my daughter (3) has no problem coming up with a way to play. Often, using the childrenโs picnic table to have a tea party with the babies is so cute!
This cafรฉ is great value, with babychinos for $1.50 and kidโs meals for $9.90 with options like pancakes, beef nachos and the classic chicken nuggets and chips all served in great portion sizes. For smaller toddlers it can easily be shared between the two of them.
You donโt have to have kids to come here and can sit outside if you wish or enjoy the warmth inside. With a large breakfast and lunch menu both available all day and ready to go cabinet items there is something for everyone.
If you want to add to your morning, Gumblossom Park is within walking distance and provides a fenced playground that is suitable for big and little kids. Having two slides, easy ways to climb up the climbing frame and a big and little swing set. It is located between the Gumblossom Community Centre and the football pitches.
Hardware Cafe is open until 5 pm each day and opens at 6.30am weekdays or 7.30am weekends.
