Just a stone’s throw from the Koolambidi Woola Bunbury Youth Precinct and skate park, Benesse Bunbury offers the perfect refueling spot for families after an active morning of skateboarding or sightseeing in the south west town. Located on the main cafe strip, Victoria Street, this popular cafรฉ has earned its reputation as one of Bunbury’s top breakfast destinations. The OG venue is in Australind, near the foreshore and there’s another Benesse in the heart of Busselton too.
After letting the kiddos burn off steam at the nearby skate park, you can walk over (about 400m) for a satisfying brunch. It’s a compact town centre, with a surprising amount of street art found down laneways. I particularly loved the David Bowie inspired mural.
The cafรฉ’s Subi-like vibe provides a comfortable setting for families, though it’s worth noting they don’t take bookings, so timing your visit is important.
There’s plenty of grab and go options too, link pulled meat toasties – yum.
First up, after a late night, I was quick to order a BIG mug (3 shots) of coffee while Mr H ordered his go-to iced chocolate.
Benesse’s brunch menu is a highlight, with options to please both adults and younger diners. Their breakfast offerings are top notch – I loved the potato rosti dish, while the eggs Benny got a thumbs up from Benny.
The big brekkie was impressive and also came with a rosti.
There’s a good-sized breakfast/lunch menu for the kiddos. Kids may not fully appreciate the generous portions and fresh ingredients, but parents will.
The quality bacon and egg dish coming out on a slice of sourdough bread.
The cafรฉ’s popularity speaks to its quality โ expect a short wait for a table or line during peak times, but the queue typically moves quickly. For families planning their day in Bunbury, Benesse makes an excellent brunch stop before or after visiting the skate park or Dolphin Discovery Centre. The cafรฉ is open early, seven days a week, giving families plenty of flexibility.
Benesse’s welcoming atmosphere, convenient location, and crowd-pleasing menu make it a standout choice for parents seeking a top-quality brekky in the heart of Bunno.
