It’s been a hot minute since I visited Aravina Estate with my family. Since I first visited for lunch in 2016, the large Yallingyup winery has evolved. If you don’t always feel comfortable taking young children along to some of the fancy winery restaurants. Aravina Estate welcomes kiddos with a dedicated children’s menu, and playground. It is a classy, but laid-back winery, with good food and wine, plenty of things to do, and best of all its family friendly!
As you drive down the sweeping driveway, past the many rows of vines, you’ll come to Aravina’s stunning gardens. The gardens have matured in the 8 years since my last visit. Take a walk through the lush gardens via decked walkways. The immense hydrangea bushes are taller than me!
The cellar door is set in gorgeous surroundings, with lush plants and huge lawns for the kids to run about on. We popped by for a few drinks on the lawns.
And if you don’t like wine, there’s something for beer lovers too, with the addition of 8 Waves Brewery.
Aravina has a few dining options. Choose from the a la carte restaurant where the highest quality local produce is used or the casual Riviera/Pizza Bar. There is a dedicated children’s menu in the restaurant. After lunch, head to the playground by the dam, which is fenced for the safety of little ones.
There’s lots of fun and diverse equipment to keep the kids entertained; swings, 2 slides for racing, climbing equipment, a silly mirror and more.
The playground has a sand base, there’s some grassy areas too and lots of trees for providing shade.
Sometimes the simple things are most fun – like rolling down a hill!
There’s a few rocky ledges, so it’s best to keep an eye on toddlers.
Both big and little rev heads will appreciate Aravina’s shiny car collection. In the car gallery there’s a display of modern and vintage cars including Holden, Ford, and Ferrari. For lovers of the ocean, a Surf Museum filled with memorabilia, is found here too.
Aravina tick a lot of boxes for families in the Margaret River region. It’s easy to spend hours here, enjoying food and exploring the stunning grounds.
