The main sand play area has a pirate boat and a pulley and digging system. This area is under shade sails.
The pirate boat has climbing rope, fireman’s pole and open space underneath to play in.
The digging and pulley area also great and the kids enjoyed exploring this. It’s like a little mining system. There is also a small sit on digger.
Also in the sand area are some hidden dinosaur bones to uncover and some large turtles and snails to climb.
The water play area joins the sand play area and is quite big. Kids are likely to get wet so plan ahead and take a change of clothes.
Incorporated into Woodbridge Riverside Park are accessible amenities suitable for wheelchair users as well as others. The carousel, spinners and sway fun boat proved popular with our group of kids.
There are plenty of swinging options in the park with two sets of swings, a birds nest swing and a rope swing in the play space. One set of swings has a toddler swing and a standard swing and is on artificial grass. The other set is two standard swings and these are on soft fall surface.
The bird’s nest swing is partially enclosed and also on soft fall surface.
The rope snake swing is naturally shaded by trees and on the woodchip surface.
There is a flying fox with an accessible seat and one pommel style to suit all abilities.
Kids who love to climb are catered for as well with a large climbing frame over sand.
Also in this area are twin slides. Between the slides, the sand soft fall surface has been laid in such away to make steps to get to the top.
All the different play areas are around look out play area which has tunnels, a couple of lookouts, stepping stones /logs/tyres. This is a good area for a game of hide and seek.
There is a large expanse of grass which is perfect for picnics and has a walkway all the way round. All around the park loads picnic tables and seating, some sheltered.
Woodbridge Riverside Park also has a cafe, Cafelife which is open 7 days 9 am to 4 pm and offers coffees, snacks, pies, toasted, sandwiches etc. There are plenty of rubbish bins around the park, drink fountains and accessible toilets.
Outside the enclosed park is a walk/cycle way by the river.
Woodbridge Riverside Park is located First Ave Woodbridge.
