The Pavilion at the WACA Ground

The Pavilion at the WACA Ground is Perth’s newest water wonderland and fitness hub. This summer hangout option is an absolute game-changer! The Pavilion at the iconic WACA Ground is easily the best value water playground in the city, if not the state.

If you’re looking for a way to keep the kiddos cool and well entertained without breaking the bank, get this spot onto your radar. And when I say kids, I mean all ages – from tiny tots to those hard to please teenagers. Miss 13 and Miss 9 both loved the slides and also the pool, which is heated, so it was really comfortable to be in.

The splash pad is a total winner for the little ones, featuring a giant tipping bucket, spraying water at regular intervals (always a crowd favourite), and there are plenty of water sprayers, interactive water cannons and small slides too. There are a few steps involved, but the shallow play element is great for young children.

For the bigger kids, and brave adults, there are two epic water slides to slip and slide your way down. Climb the stairs up one of the iconic floodlight towers.  It’s been well thought out, as the huge tower creates shade for those queuing on the stairs. ‘The Spinner’ is a cricket-ball-themed inflatable raft slide that is so much fun, and can be ridden solo, or with two on the raft. The girls loved this, especially the big red cricket ball element of the slide.

‘The Quick’ is exactly what it sounds like: a fast, solo slide for the thrill-seekers.

Beyond the splashes, the facilities are top-notch. There’s a heated 8-lane 50m outdoor pool where you can swim laps while looking right onto the historic WACA pitch.

There is ramp access, and multi lanes for serious swimmers, or those who want a cool dip.

There’s a little shade around with benches down one side of the pool and also at the end of the pool where there are a few sun loungers.

Plus, there’s an indoor heated pool for year-round swimming lessons.

If you’re more into “land” fitness, the state-of-the-art health club offers incredible views of the ground, Pilates and more.

For cricket buffs, there is a museum coming soon.

No doubt there will be tours at some point too. We enjoyed a peek into the men’s and women’s WA players changerooms, as part of the Community Day.

The Pavilion is incredibly affordable. Admission costs correct at March 2026 is: Casual entry is just $8 for adults and $6.20 for kids (under 5s are free!), with a family pass costing only $22. Entry to the splash pad is included in your entry, and the big slides are just an extra $8 for kids over 6.

There are change rooms and accessible features, too. Food and drinks are not permitted, but there is the neighbouring Wirin cafe, for brunch, lunch and snacks.

Getting to the WACA is a breeze too. Either drive in and park in the nearby paid car park, or hop on the train and catch a free CAT bus. It’s the perfect way to spend a sunny day in Perth!
