I popped by on a long weekend and the indoor market had a bustling atmosphere and live music. I was surprised that the markets specialise in artisanal gifts and foods from around Western Australia, not just in the south-west. I spotted Perth Hills’ Core Cider there, as well as the Swan Valley’s Homestead Brewery. I suppose it’s also nice for people who live in this region to get a taste of Perth!
There’s honey to taste, wine to sip and a treasure trove of handcrafted gems; arts, crafts, jewellery and more to treat yourself to.
When you’ve worked up an appetite, the food court has plenty of options. The aroma of many cuisines wafts through the air, enticing you to eat everything from gourmet burgers to sushi, Balinese, Italian, Cuban, Filipino, Korean, Mediterranean and more. You’re bound to find something that will please even the pickiest of eaters.
One of the standout features of Origins Market that makes it perfect for families is the playground. Suited for younger children, the play area is right next to the dining area, perfect for allowing parents to eat, while kids can let explore the playground equipment.
There are plenty of candy, doughnut and ice cream stalls for sweet treats too!
