Get ready for a mind-blowing adventure! Australia’s first and only inverted house photo experience is right here in Perth at Cockburn Gateway Shopping Centre! Come defy gravity in the House Down Under and have a go walking, jumping or dancing on the ceilings or try cooking in the inverted kitchen! It’s the perfect one-of-a-kind experience for anyone looking for a laugh while snapping some cool and unique shots from a new perspective!
Located right in front of Lone Star Rib House Restaurant at Cockburn Gateway Shopping, you won’t be able to miss this distinctive Upside Down House. The house itself is not very big but it spans over two open-plan levels. The unique tilted design of the house has slanted floors with a slight incline to create that immersive upside-down experience so it makes walking a bit tricky and therefore not suitable for prams and wheelchair.
Stepping inside, you get that instant hit of having your world flipped! I did feel a little dizzy upon entering while trying to get used to the “new” surroundings, but both my girls were fine. Staff did let us know that we can always exit the house and come back in again if we felt uncomfortable in the house.
On the first floor, you will find the kids’ play area with different play scenes and a bathroom.
Climbing up the spiral stairs, you will get to the top floor (or is it bottom floor?) that has a hallway to the front door, a bedroom, a lounge room, a study and a cosy kitchen.
The fun part is getting creative and snapping those unforgettable photos! A staff member inside the house helped us take photos and offered lots of great pose suggestions. The girls had a blast making poses on top of the world and rolling around!
There’s no time limit to explore the house, but in total we were there for about 20-30 minutes before we left.
Tickets with allocated times are easily available for purchase online to secure your preferred times or you can get the tickets at the venue on that day too. Do note that during peak hours, there might be a wait to get inside.
