Always dreamed of enjoying a croissant and coffee by the French coast? Well, now you can get a little bite of that at Ellenbrook cafe, French Riviera. Found a few minutes from the town centre, this lovely little spot is perched on a lake.
This charming cafe is by Swan Valley legends, Maison St Honore, and I wish it was in my neighborhood! For a new-ish spot, this cafe has lots of character, sit inside by the fireplace, or outside on the deck, overlooking the lake. It’s a perfect spot for a good coffee accompanied by a flaky croissant.
Whether you’re there for breakfast, lunch, or afternoon tea, French Riviera spoils you with a big choice of their freshly baked French specialties. Indulge in colourful macarons, delicate cakes, buttery croissants and more, all crafted with the authenticity and quality you expect from Maison St Honore.
We were there for a hot drink and sweet treat for morning tea, but what this cafe is famous for is its crepes, that are sure to transport your taste buds to the streets of Paris. There’s plenty of choice, from classic savoury combinations to innovative twists – like Reece’s or Oreo crepes. There’s also plenty of other breakfast dishes, like avo on toast. We shared a mango mousse cake and triple choc mousse cake (both GF). The coffee and hot choccy were both good. The kid’s hot choc came with a marshmallow, and they asked what temperature you’d like it, which is great for little kids.
For families dining at French Riviera, there’s a small kids play area complete with a cubby house, ensuring that the little ones are entertained while you indulge in your French fancies. You’ll want to keep in mind this is close to the road, and lake.
Plus, with a dedicated kid’s menu, there’s something to please even the fussiest of little eaters. There are plenty of highchairs too.
