Best-selling food author and leading baby food expert Annabel Karmel was in town recently to promote her new editions to her popular AK Little Meals range and latest cookbook. I had the lovely pleasure of meeting her in person for a long table lunch with other mums.

Annabel’s journey in her lifelong quest to provide kids with the best nutritious food started with a heartbreaking story. She shared about the devastating loss of her daughter Natasha, just 3 months old, to encephalitis – an inflammation of the brain caused by a viral infection.

Through this tragedy, she soon welcomed her second child who happened to be the world’s fussiest eater. Doing what any mum would do, she would try and test so many recipes just to get him to eat. Soon, words got out, and many mums were coming up to her for these secret recipes. And this went on to become the Complete Baby & Toddler Meal Planner cookbook that sold over 5 million copies worldwide! In her own words: “A legacy to Natasha that she can help millions of babies with healthy eating habits.”

Annabel Karmel’s recipes are no strangers in our household; my youngest was a very fussy eater, too! On days that I struggled with feeding her nutritious meals, I would look up AK’s recipes for inspiration. Her quick and easy recipes are a lifesaver for our young, busy household.

This fussy eater is very happy to receive her first cookbook! My First Cookbook is filled with lots of colourful illustrations and a follow guide to many delicious and attractive kids-approved recipes.

AK Little Meals are developed to help busy families serve up quick and easy, delicious and nutritious meals for our little ones. They are freshly frozen to lock in all the nutritious goodness and are proudly prepared in WA!

Missy 6 tried the mild butter chicken and rice. It smelled so good coming out of the microwave that even the adults had to try it! The flavours were flavourful and yummy! Missy 6 even said she wanted to eat them every day!

AK Little Meals are now available in all major supermarkets in the frozen section. Also check out  https://www.annabelkarmel.com/ for more of Annabel Karmel’s baby toddler and family recipes!
