Hidden in Aveley is a scenic park, wondering footpaths, an adventure playground and a café just metres away. Aveley Central Park and Vale Adventure Playground, located just off Gnangara Road, is a beautiful park that offers a stunning walk around its picturesque water features. Offering an adventure playground, dog park, and small skate park will please all members of the family.
The Adventure playground features play spaces for varying abilities, including a flying fox, slides, swings, climbing pieces, stepping stumps, and many other nature-themed items. There are plenty of shade sails and seating for parents to sit and watch.
It is important to note that the park is not fenced and is near a lake.
There is two fenced dog exercise areas, for small and big dogs, and a small skate park featuring rolling hills perfect for beginners.
Just 400m from the park is Miss Me Café, a small café that offers speedy service and impressive serving sizes. This café blends into the local estate so that you would miss it if you were not looking, but I promise it’s worth a stop. Located at the southern end of the lake, grab yourself a coffee and a takeaway snack and walk over to the park to let the kiddies burn some energy.
If you really wanted to step it up, literally. Aveley Park run is held every Saturday at 8am. A free timed 5km run or walk, on sealed and flat paths it makes for a lovely morning walk or run. I joined friends recently for a Park Run, and because the course is two loops, I was able to walk one loop in the pram while they ran and then headed over to the café to refuel. Anyone of any fitness level is welcome to join in.
Add this one to your list if you want a new local park to hit up, with bonus points for a café on site.
