Why My Toddler Loves Wildflower Parenting Nature Play Group (and Why You Will Too!)

As a toddler mum, Iโ€™m always on the lookout for activities that are not only fun but also help my little one learn and explore in a natural, pressure-free environment. Thatโ€™s why Iโ€™m so glad we found this nature play group! Held twice a week during school terms on a Monday and Thursday (with bonus sessions during the holidays!), it has become one of our favourite playgroups to attend. Itโ€™s the perfect way for my toddler to get outdoors, get messy and immerse himself in all the wonders nature has to offer.

This isnโ€™t your average playgroup. Run by Jocelyn โ€“ a peaceful parenting coach, writer, and gentle parenting advocate with a background in early childhood education โ€“ this group is all about offering unstructured, stress-free play in the great outdoors. The best part? Every week brings a totally new theme! From mud kitchens to dinosaur hunts, storytime on the mat and plenty of sensory exploration, thereโ€™s no shortage of fun. The ever-changing activities keep my toddler engaged, excited and learning in the most natural way possible.

The nature play group is designed for toddlers and preschoolers, and my two-year-old has absolutely loved every session. The activities are so varied that it keeps him engaged from start to finish, and the freedom to explore at his own pace is something I truly appreciate. Thereโ€™s no pressure, just good old-fashioned fun.

What makes this playgroup even more special is the location โ€“ Baldivis Childrenโ€™s Forest. Nestled in this lush, natural setting, itโ€™s the perfect place for little ones to connect with nature. Surrounded by towering trees, open fields, and wildlife, my toddler is always so excited to explore the area. It feels like a magical space for kids to learn and play, making every session even more memorable.

I also appreciate that itโ€™s an all-weather playgroup โ€“ I love that we can attend no matter the weather! The kids are encouraged to embrace the elements, which means Iโ€™m not worrying about it being too hot, too cold, or too rainy. And because weโ€™re encouraged to dress for mess (hello, muddy shoes!), it feels like a true outdoor adventure.

If youโ€™re looking for an activity that supports your childโ€™s development in a gentle, fun way, I highly recommend this nature play group. The best part? Siblings under 18 months can join for free, which is a huge bonus for mums with younger ones. Itโ€™s such a great way to include the whole family. Spots are limited, so make sure you book early โ€“ you donโ€™t want to miss out on these fun sessions! I canโ€™t wait for our next session, and I know your little one will love it just as much as mine does!
