  I took my 4yo here with my sister and 5yo niece just before xmas so the girls could paint some presents. We found the range of things to paint small and expensive for what it was. Nevertheless we both purchased multiple items. In between coats, the girls would play in the little toy area sectioned off for kids. There were no other patrons in the shop at the time. The owner then came up to the girls and told them “Get out of there”. They were not being loud, destructive or disruptive. Again, there was no one else there. When the girls told us we were stunned. The lady did not come to us and ask the kids not play in there. She was rude and instead chose to upset the kids. I really wish I said something to her but I was so shocked that we just left. When I went to collect our items a week later, there was another lady there so again I opted not to say anything. I wont be back.

     I am the co-owner of Mug ‘n Brush and really disappointed that you had this experience or did not raise the issue with us on the day. We take all such matters very seriously and have reviewed our CCTV footage of the incident. Unfortunately, we have to disagree with your version of the events as we found that to the girls it was gently explained that they are too big for the play area that is designed and preserved for little kids under 3 years of age. This is clearly indicated by the signs next to the play area. The owner responded by directly speaking to the kids because there was no adult supervision at the time, which is another condition of entry. This is also clearly marked. Unfortunately, we have to abide by the policies implemented regardless of whether the shop is empty or not. We are sorry if our way of handling the situation offended you.

  What a great little space! We visited during the last school holidays. They can get very busy and yet still delivered great service, staff and owners are really friendly. The items were very well priced and thoroughly enjoyed by our kids. Lovely play area for young kids.

  Food was very affordable and my son got so excited over the little smiley face in his babycino!
