Peet Park in Kewdale is a handy neighbourhood Playground and sports reserve, ideal for a run around before or after school or a casual catch‑up with friends. Tucked alongside the large oval and community centre on Wright Street, the Playground has modern equipment on a bright, colourful soft fall surface and is naturally shaded by mature trees.
The main play structure is well designed for a mix of ages. There are three slides in total – a small, gentle slide for toddlers, a mid‑sized slide and a taller twisty slide that’s perfect for more confident climbers. Kids can choose how they reach the top, with lots of climbing ropes, climbing walls, a ramp and a tunnel, so there’s plenty of opportunity to build strength and coordination as they play.
For extra fun, the structure also features a fireman’s pole, noughts and crosses game, a play clock and a little “shop” area that’s great for imaginative play. Younger children can potter about on the lower platforms, while older ones will enjoy challenging themselves on the rope sections and racing down the biggest slide.
On the same soft fall area, there’s a small merry‑go‑round and a bouncy see‑saw, both of which are always popular with younger kids.
The swing set includes a toddler bucket swing and a standard flat swing, catering to different ages and abilities.
A park bench sits right by the play area, making it easy for parents and carers to supervise while still having somewhere to sit.
Beyond the Playground, Peet Park opens out to a large oval and cricket nets, so there’s loads of space for ball games, riding scooters, or just letting the kids burn off some energy. With public toilets and a drinking fountain on site, it’s practical for longer visits or quick stops when you’re in the area.
