Dianella BMX Track

As of July 2021, Dianella Regional Open Space now features a stunning new BMX track. Dianella BMX Track is naturally shaded and the perfect spot for kids of all ages to race off some energy.

Stage One and Stage Two of the new track, built by City of Stirling, was completed in July. The third and finally stage is currently awaiting funding.

Dianella BMX Track is made up of two parts. One half is made of compacted limestone. This includes rock climbs, balance beams and drop offs.

This track is rough and bumpy, and just made for adventures! It’s not your typical sanitised play area. So be prepared for potential skinned knees or dirty clothes.

The second half is a much smoother sealed track. This includes a wooden ramp, jumps and rollovers. There are flat ledges to scoot along, and undulating bumps to zip over. This is more sedate and suited to younger kids. However kids of all ages will get joy from riding here.

During our visit, teens enjoyed the dirt track, racing down and skidding at the bottom. Younger kids, teens and dads enjoyed the sealed track. Teens and dads were able to jump high and get air as they flew over.

A covered picnic table stands adjacent to the sealed BMX track. There is also a water fountain. This is fitted so your dog can also have a drink.

In addition to the fun tracks, there is also fitness equipment nearby. If for instance this isn’t your thing, there are also plenty of walking paths through Dianella Regional Open Space. While the kids ride, you can always take a quick walk nearby find your 30 for the day. Or maybe just do some laps with the family dog.

Miss 7 enjoyed the sealed track the most. When it came time to head home, she didn’t want to leave, and I had to promise another visit again soon. Her commuter scooter wasn’t completely suited to these tracks, however she soon gained confidence and was zooming around with the best of them. We’ll be back soon with a more compact scooter or bike.

Dianella BMX Track

Located within Dianella Regional Open Space, near the corner of Light Street and Alexander Drive, Dianella.

Parking is available at Dianella Regional Open Space. On entering the carpark via Light Street and Edison Street, turn right before the speed humps. Follow the paved path through the bushland, and you’ll find the BMX Track.

Toilet facilities are available across the carpark, next door to the playground. There are also barbecue and picnic facilities here.
