Santa’s Christmas Village brings all the magic of the festive season indoors to the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre, making it a brilliant all-weather Christmas outing for families. With more than 20 attractions and activities packed into each session, it’s designed as an immersive, move-at-your-own-pace experience rather than a seated show – perfect for excited kids who want to explore, play and meet Santa all in one go.

From the moment you step through Candy Cane Lane, the theming is full-on Christmas.

From the moment you step through Candy Cane Lane, the theming is full-on Christmas. Families walk beneath twinkling lights and past giant props into the main village area, where the towering Giant Christmas Tree immediately sets the scene. Kids can wander around and even “inside” the tree, and there are plenty of oversized nutcrackers and festive displays that double as great photo backdrops. The village is filled with different zones and activity stations, so you can pick and choose what to do next rather than queuing in one long line.

Hands-on activities are a big part of the experience. At the North Pole Bakehouse, children can decorate their own gingerbread cookies and then eat their creations on the spot.

The bauble decorating station offers a slightly calmer, crafty moment where kids can sit and design a Christmas bauble to take home as a keepsake.

There’s also a Letter to Santa area so little ones who don’t get much time with the big man can still let him know their wishes.

These experiences are included for children on a standard child ticket, which covers one gingerbread decorating, one bauble decorating, one Letter to Santa and one entry to the Holly Jolly Maze.

The live entertainment is a huge drawcard, especially for PAW Patrol fans. A dedicated PAW Patrol Christmas show sees Ryder, Chase and Marshall appear on stage in a festive, music‑filled performance, with plenty of dancing and high‑energy moments that preschoolers and early primary kids will love.

Around the village, the Singing Reindeer Barn invites families to join in with classic Christmas carols, and there are lots of roaming or static photo spots including Elf Town, Santa’s sleigh and illuminated Christmas lanterns.

Of course, the highlight for many children is meeting Santa himself for a photo and a quick chat.

For younger visitors, there’s a dedicated under‑5s play zone in the Tiny Tots Xmas Dome, with soft play modules suited to toddlers and preschoolers who might find the main village a bit overwhelming.

Older kids will probably gravitate towards Rudolph’s Fun Fair, which features family‑friendly carnival rides such as runaway train, cups and saucers, dodgem drift, swing rides, inflatable castles and more

Each child ticket includes a bundle of child‑only ride turns, and there are also a small number of adult‑only rides included; additional ride and game tokens can be purchased on the day if your kids want “just one more go”.

Sessions run for 2 hours and 45 minutes, with three sessions scheduled each day during the event dates. This is generally enough time to enjoy the activities at a relaxed pace: decorate treats, craft a bauble, see PAW Patrol, tackle the maze, visit Santa, squeeze in some rides and still stop for a snack. Because the entire event is indoors at PCEC, it’s weather‑proof – ideal for very hot days, rainy spells or when you just want to avoid worrying about sunscreen and showers.

Facilities are well set up for families. There’s a café on site along with popcorn and fairy floss stands for treats, and rest areas where you can take a breather between activities. Toilets are located inside the venue. Parking is available at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre car park under or next to the building, and the venue is an easy walk from Elizabeth Quay Train Station and bus links, making public transport a practical option during busy holiday periods. All patrons – both adults and children – need a ticket to enter. Child tickets (3–17 years) include the listed activities and ride entitlements, while adult tickets cover entry only; everything is clearly outlined in the pricing and inclusions section on the official site.

With its combination of live show, hands‑on Christmas crafts, carnival fun and that all‑important Santa meet and greet, Santa’s Christmas Village is designed as a one‑stop festive outing.
