Book Week Costume Making and Costume Swap (Ages 7-12) – 15th July

Create costume elements inspired by favourite book characters using a vast collection of recycled fabrics, trims, and creative materials.
The Artistic Disorder crew will support attendees to design and make wearable pieces through open ended making and imaginative play. They will explore storytelling, character design, and sustainable reuse while keeping little hands busy.
Parents … outsource your Book Week prep. Children can create masks, capes, crowns, accessories, and costume details to build onto simple clothing or costume bases from home. With a focus on creative costume elements this workshop is an engaging, low-pressure way for your kids to take the lead in preparing for Book Week. Encourage your child’s creativity AND dodge the last-minute cardboard engineering crisis. It’s a win, win!
Bring along any costumes you have outgrown to swap with other families.
Workshop runs from 2pm-3.30pm. Costume swap runs from 3.30-4.30pm.
Bookings for workshop essential; they open the week prior. Early booking access will be given to Bayswater Bilbies.
No bookings required for the Costume Swap from 3.30pm.
