Since its 2021 $800 million redevelopment (yes, it’s already been that long!) Karrinyup Shopping Centre has become Perth’s biggest shopping mall and entertainment complex. Shopping centres are no longer simply destinations to buy groceries and a pair of new shoes. Now, they offer SO many entertainment and quality dining options too. Here’s our BIG guide to Karrinyup Shopping Centre with kids in tow.
Shopping at Karrinyup Shopping Centre
You’ll find most of the major department stores at Karrinyup – Myer, David Jones and Big W – as well as Coles, Woolworths and Aldi. There’s even WA’s first dedicated Lego shop! The store was custom created for WA and features a 75,667 piece iconic quokka selfie masterpiece that took more than 450 hours to build – wow! See more in the Buggybuddys review.
The centre’s six parents’ rooms offer a range of amenities including baby change tables, soft play area, privacy rooms, toilets and microwave ovens for easy bottle warming. We love the murals painted by local artist Anya Brock too.
Entertainment at Karrinyup Shopping Centre
The entertainment options are impressive. Roll up, Roll up to Archie Brothers – home a huge arcade with bumper cars, and the quirky Holey Moley mini golf. Strike is also found in this venue, which includes both bowling and fun escape rooms. See more in the Buggybuddys review.

If you’re after a cheaper food-court style take away, this can be found at the east side’s café terrace. There is also a soft fall playground for little ones here and an outdoor area with city views.

Did you know anyone can book the City View Room for an event? With sweeping views of Perth City and Lake Gwelup, the View Room is a great spot for a baby shower or other get together – you can even order catering from the nearby food retailers – easy!

There’s plenty of parking at Karriynup, both covered and outside, as well as many ACROD spots at each entrance. The car parks are often busy, but the red light / green light system helps you to find those elusive empty bays. Valet parking is available for a fee (I did this in December, and it made life easier!). There’s even Tesla charging bays.
