Candy Cow, Cowaramup
Located in the heart of Cow Town, Candy Cow in Cowaramup is a fun stop to break up your journey through the South West. Enjoy a snack, watch a candy making demonstration or have a toilet break.
Candy Cow is located 13km from the heart of Margaret River and 38km from Busselton.
Daily at 11am during the school holidays and weekends, the Candy Cow staff demonstrate how they make their signature product, Honey Crunch. Families can watch safely behind the viewing windows. When the staff add the powdered ingredients, the Honey Crunch mixture puffs and fills up the pot. Miss 5 was absolutely enthralled by this!
As the Honey Crunch cools, the staff cut small samples for everyone viewing to taste. They make around 50 bags of Honey Crunch during this process, which are sold in the store. A kind of honeycomb made with pure WA honey, this sweet treat comes in four different varieties: Redgum, Karri, Yate and Goldfields Mallee.
In addition to Honey Crunch, Candy Cow’s other signature product is their fudge. They boast around 30 flavours including lemon cheesecake, salted caramel, Irish cream and double chocolate. There’s so many, it can be hard to pick just a couple!
Other products in store includes nougat and many retro favourite lollies like rock candy, Double Dips, Whizz Fizz and giant rainbow lollipops. Miss 5 was fascinated with the rudely named Pig Farts, Unicorn Balls and Possum Poop. All sure to make kids giggle!
If candy isn’t so much your thing, The Candy Cow also sells delicious bags of warm nuts. These are almonds or cashews coated in a cinnamon glaze. They’re very moreish! There are also souvenirs available such as t-shirts, cuddly cows, small toys and cow onesies.
The location is handy for breaking up your journey with the kids. Stop and get a photo with one of the many cow statues around town. There is a coffee shop next door for further refreshments, as well as the iconic Golden Cow statue across the road. The Golden Cow statue’s parkland includes a playground if the kids really need to stretch their legs. Furthermore, the park also includes public toilets.
