The Quinns Rocks 3-year-old programme started in 1999 and was catering for 4yr olds the year before attending school with the Education Department.
Mandy took over the programme in 2000, and has been the coordinator for 23yrs, and now the programme focuses on children pre-kindy. The programme fills a need in the community for an education-based programme that is separate from Childcare. We have found that offering shorter sessions helps children and parents settle quicker, as this is the first time many of the children have ever been left with an adult other than family or friends. Lots of our children have attended childcare, and have not settled, but have had no trouble attending our programme.
