Tucked away on a quiet suburban corner just a block from Daglish Train Station, Jersey Street Playground in Jolimont is a lovely little surprise for families. This teeny, local pocket park is compact but thoughtfully designed, combining traditional Playground favourites with nature play to create a fun stop for kids from around 3 years and up.

The play space centres around a wooden, fort-like structure thatโs perfect for imaginative games.

Children can climb up in two different ways โ either via a gently sloping climbing net thatโs great for more cautious or younger climbers, or by tackling the more challenging vertical tube net for kids who love a bit of a scramble.

Once theyโre up in the fort, the quickest and most popular way back down is the bright red slide, which offers a good little whoosh without being too intimidating.

On the ground level, the Playground is set within a mix of sand and woodchips, adding to the natural feel. Simple nature play elements like balancing logs and stepping logs invite kids to test their balance, hop between levels, and create their own obstacle courses.

Among the bushes youโll also spot some small art sculptures, which add a bit of charm and interest for curious little explorers.

A definite highlight for many children is the spinning play piece โ a simple stand-on spinner that kids can turn themselves. Itโs the sort of piece of equipment that looks unassuming but tends to be a firm favourite, especially with slightly older kids who enjoy a dizzy, giggly challenge.

Around the main play zone, mature trees provide some natural shade over parts of the area, and low, dense bushes create little winding pathways. These are ideal for a game of hide-and-seek or for toddlers to wander and explore within easy view of their carers. Thereโs also a small patch of grass adjacent to the Playground, giving space for a quick run-around, a picnic rug, or a kicking-the-ball break.
Facilities are minimal, which suits the neighbourhood feel of the park. There is a covered picnic table providing some shelter for snacks or a coffee, but there are no toilets and no dedicated car park. Parking is on the surrounding streets, which is generally straightforward, but worth keeping in mind if youโre visiting with prams or multiple kids. Bringing your own camp chairs or picnic rug will make your visit more comfortable, especially if you plan to stay for a while.

Jersey Street Playground is best suited as a local play stop or a low-key destination for families looking for somewhere quiet and relaxed, rather than a full half-day outing. Its proximity to Daglish Station also makes it a handy little Playground to pair with a train trip adventure, adding a fun play break before or after your journey. For families who enjoy smaller, community-style parks that blend traditional equipment with a touch of nature play, this Jolimont gem is well worth a visit.
