We all know in those first few months, you’re finding your feet. Trying to have a routine, sleep deprivation, figuring out feeding, tummy time, tummy time, tummy time. It can be a lot whether it’s your first or your fourth.

Getting out of the house can feel like a break, something new, and can make you feel productive and like, “Yeah, I can do this”, and that’s why baby lessons and activities are great. We also all know the importance of children knowing how to swim and water safety, so of course children’s swimming lessons make a great activity. What if you could get free swimming lessons at the start of your little one’s life to get your toes in the water and give you a set activity where you and your child bond?

Well, look no further than Water Ponyz. Water Ponyz is a family-owned business with a passion for helping children to learn in a fun and safe way. Through her own personal tragedy, owner Suzette used this energy to create a space for local communities to learn how to swim. Class structures are based on children learning in their own time through playing games and using toys to get children to have fun and learn at the same time. Each class is always limited to create a small, intimate class setting so each child can get the necessary supervision to help them excel.

I myself have taken my daughter Eleanor from 10 weeks, and have now moved into the 3-6 month class. The newborn class had around 8 children, as this was more about bonding, getting them used to the water and a small number of skills. When we moved up to a structured class, we have so far only had between 2-5 in each class, and it has felt like a really hands-on class with each child getting plenty of one-on-one time with the teacher.

It has provided us an activity to look forward to each week and allows us to get in some dedicated one on one time. Always ensures a great nap as well after the workout! Water Ponyz has locations in Muchea, Floreat, Merriwa, Wangara, Ocean Reef and Wanneroo there is sure to be a class if you are north of the river.
