Yanchep Golf Estate Playground is a brilliant little neighbourhood gem tucked between new homes and the rolling fairways of the golf course. Designed as a shipwreck-themed adventure space, itโs ideal for toddlers and primary-aged kids and works really well as a stop on a Yanchep day out or as your local โpop down for a playโ park if you live nearby.

The first thing that tends to grab kidsโ attention is the flying fox. Itโs a single cable rather than a dual racing style, but children still love taking turns and seeing who can launch the fastest. Because it runs over soft-fall and sand, it feels like a good introduction to flying foxes for younger or more cautious riders too.

Most of the Playground is sand-based, anchored by a striking blue soft-fall โmountainโ in the middle. This central mound is dotted with colourful bumps, ropes, stepping logs and a concrete tunnel, with a slide coming down one side. It offers a nice mix of challenge and fun โ little ones can potter around the lower mounds, while older kids will happily climb, scramble and race each other up and over the top.

Water play is a big drawcard here, even on cooler days. Children can climb the rocks up to a series of timber stepping logs to turn on the water, which then trickles and rushes down three wooden troughs. Itโs perfect for hands-on, sensory play โ little ones love redirecting the flow, catching water in their hands or making small sand channels at the base. Pack a towel or a change of clothes if your child is the kind who canโt resist getting wet.

Adding to the sensory fun, thereโs a xylophone with two mallets positioned near the water play. Itโs simple but very popular with toddlers, who will happily tap out โconcertsโ between dashes back to the sand and climbing areas.

The shipwreck theme continues in the sand with a wooden โwreckedโ boat. Kids love climbing up onto the bow for their Titanic moment, steering imaginary ships or turning it into a pirate hideout. Itโs great for sparking imaginative games and cooperative play between siblings and friends.

On one side of the Playground youโll find monkey bars and more balancing and stepping logs. These are perfect for building confidence, coordination and upper-body strength. Brightly coloured logs dotted throughout the sand and around the play space add extra visual appeal and give kids more little challenges to hop between.

Thereโs also a generous grassed area adjoining the play equipment, which is ideal for kicking a footy, flying a kite or setting up a casual game of cricket. It makes the park feel bigger than just the Playground itself and is handy if youโre visiting with mixed-age children who want both structured play and open space to run.

For families planning a longer stay, the park is well set up for a casual picnic or sausage sizzle. There are shaded picnic tables, BBQs and a drinking fountain set within the landscaped setting of Yanchep Golf Estate.

One thing to note is that there are no toilets on site, which is common for small residential pocket parks. The nearest public toilets are at local shopping centres such as Yanchep Central and Yanchep Village, both just a few minutesโ drive away, so itโs worth planning ahead if youโre visiting with newly toilet-trained toddlers. On the plus side, parking is street-side and convenient, and being nestled within the estate streets gives the park a relaxed, local feel.
With its mix of climbing, water play, musical play, imaginative shipwreck elements and a flying fox, Yanchep Golf Estate Playground is especially good for toddlers through to around 10 years old. Itโs a lovely spot to break up the day if youโre exploring Yanchepโs many family attractions like Yanchep National Park or Yanchep Lagoon, or a fantastic everyday Playground if youโre lucky enough to call the estate home.
