Whitfords Nodes Ninja Warrior Course is a brilliant spot for active kids, teens and adults who love a challenge. Set within the Whitfords Nodes Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hillarys, this coastal park combines a serious ninja-style obstacle course with running tracks, outdoor gym equipment, Playgrounds and beach access, making it easy to turn a quick play into a full family day out.

The ninja course itself feels like stepping onto the set of an obstacle TV show. Youโll spot familiar elements like the quintuple steps right at the starting line, followed by obstacles such as the spin cycle, cargo net and pole grasper that test balance, upper body strength and coordination. The course finishes in style with a mini Mt Midoriyama-style climbing tower, perfect for kids who love that big โfinal climbโ moment.

Kids will love the imaginative play as much as the physical challenge. The bright soft-fall is divided into green and black sections, and many families play the classic โthe floor is lavaโ game โ green is safe, black is lava โ which adds an extra layer of fun as they plot paths between obstacles. At the end of the course thereโs a winnerโs podium, ideal for post-race photos and celebrating new personal-best times.

For those who want to take things a bit more seriously, thereโs a QR code at the start gate. Scan it to watch short instructional videos explaining each obstacle, see the official course rules, and even access a timer so you can log your run. Times are uploaded to a community leaderboard, which is a great motivator for competitive kids, teens and fitness-focused adults.

Spectators are well catered for, too. A long stretch of tiered seating runs alongside the course, and there are large grassed areas surrounding it where families can spread out picnic rugs, park prams and watch the action. Itโs easy to keep an eye on kids working their way along the course while younger siblings play nearby.
The wider Health and Wellbeing Hub adds even more reasons to visit. Beside the ninja course youโll find marked running tracks of various lengths, including a 100m sprint track, as well as a selection of outdoor workout equipment. The famous Whitfords Nodes Stairway climbs up the dunes to a lookout with fantastic coastal views โ a popular fitness challenge in its own right. On Saturday mornings, the park also hosts a free 5km parkrun from 8am, attracting a friendly crowd of local runners and walkers.

While the ninja course is best suited to older primary school kids, tweens, teens and adults, younger children havenโt been forgotten. Within the same park thereโs a separate Playground area with equipment more appropriate for little ones, plus wide open grass for ball games and running around. Toilets, BBQs and shaded areas are available on site, making it easy to stay for a picnic or a post-play sausage sizzle. The park is tucked just north of Hillarys Boat Harbour off Whitfords Avenue, with free car parking and easy access down to the beach if you want to cool off with a swim afterwards.
Overall, Whitfords Nodes Ninja Warrior Course is a fantastic choice for families who enjoy being outdoors and getting active together. Whether your kids are keen to race the clock, practice specific obstacles, or simply burn off energy in a spectacular coastal setting, this park delivers plenty of adventure.
