Now this is what we call a hidden gem! Sanctuary Park Playground in Ridgewood has officially become our favourite discovery of the week — and we’re already planning our return with friends and a pack of sausages for a BBQ catch-up!
Located just 30 minutes north of Perth in a quiet suburb, this park is set on its own block with ample street parking all around. What immediately stood out? It’s fully shaded! Shade sails cover the entire play area — a total win for sunny days.

There’s a little something for everyone here, making it ideal for kids of all ages. The main play structure is a real adventure zone: packed with multiple slides, a bridge, tic-tac-toe, fun interactive games, and even a xylophone tucked inside!

Our 4-year-old couldn’t get enough of the spiral climbing tower and rock wall, while our 1-year-old loved the pretend shop and sand kitchen by the sandpit zone.

Other highlights include stepping and balancing logs, a basket swing, a stone slide, and soft-fall surfacing in some areas for added safety.

A bike trail wraps through the park, perfect for little riders.

And for the grown-ups? There are shaded picnic tables, benches, a BBQ, and a water point — everything you need for a relaxed family day out.

While there’s no bathroom on site, the park itself looks like it’s had a recent upgrade — it’s clean, modern, and beautifully designed.

Local tip: After playtime, head just a few minutes over to My Hungry Bear Café in Butler for great coffee and lunch options.
Sanctuary Park is a must-visit — peaceful, practical, and packed with play. We’ll definitely be back soon (with friends and snags in tow!).
