Just a short 5 minute walk from Ngarkal Beach and the Port Coogee water park in the new Parkside Retreat estate, you will find this lovely local playground.
The slide is attached to an up-ended sea container that has 2 ways of climbing to the top. You can go around to the back and climb the outside to the door.
On the inside the climb is a mix of rope bridges and platforms, they may be a challenge for the smaller kids.
Sami was very excited to see the flying fox and it wasn’t a disappointment. It was easy to pull the seat up to the landing and the stop at the end wasn’t harsh.
It’s also adult-friendly.
The bird nest swing was also a big hit with us, it is located under the shade sails with soft fall matting underneath. It’s not one that spins around but it does have a wide swing arc for the daredevils.
Also under the shade sails is a fantastic wooden ship with steering wheels, portholes and plenty of seating for your passengers.
A couple of fun ways to get to the different levels besides running around the outside.
Bring the bikes and scooters along to make the most of the mini pump track around the outside of the playground that’s complete with street signs, bumps and dips.
You can also do some splashing with the water pump and rock waterfall area and jump onto the log stepping stones.
There are undercover bench tables with seat & a long grass area perfect for picnics and a drinking fountain but currently no BBQs.
The closest toilets are at the Port Coogee Marina or the Port Coogee shopping complex and parking is limited.
