The new Palmerston Square playground in Bassendean is NOW OPEN and ready to be explored!
The old playground equipment has been replaced by a beautiful wooden playground. The environment is a really lovely green space, with shade from the many trees that have been planted, plus the existing established trees.
The playground area is mainly wood chip-based and has so many different areas to it, including balancing logs, a balancing bridge, wobbling balancing log, a wooden climbing frame structure with a big red slide, monkey bars, stepping logs a swing set and a sandpit to the side.
Nestled amongst the trees are hidden fairy doors, adding a nice element of imagination and fairytale to the play area.
Palmerston Square Playground is designed for older children 3+, but there has been talk of a structure going in for younger children, so stay tuned.
There is a large open grassed area overlooking the playground, perfect for having a picnic or kicking around the footy with friends.
