If you’re on the lookout for a brand-new playground to explore in Perth, look no further than Koala Cove Park! Nestled in the picturesque Movida Estate, this park is a haven for kids and parents alike. I recently visited with my two cheeky little rascals, Archer (7) and Spencer (6), and it’s safe to say we fell in love with Koala Cove Park from the moment we arrived.
As we stepped out of the car, the boys couldn’t contain their excitement. Their eyes widened with wonder as they caught sight of the magnificent koala climbing structure that stands tall at the heart of the park. This impressive centrepiece, complete with a thrilling tunnel slide, immediately drew them in and set the tone for an unforgettable day.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. Koala Cove Park has a lot more to offer adventurous souls of all ages. As we ventured further into the playground, we discovered a range of exciting activities that had the boys grinning from ear to ear. From the flying fox that sent Archer and Spencer soaring through the air to the viking rope swings that provided endless giggles.
For the little ones, there’s a fully fenced toddler area that’s just perfect for safe and enjoyable play. Complete with a pod swing, toddler swing, and a standard swing, as well as a small double slide with easy stair access, it’s a haven for pint-sized adventurers. The addition of speaking tubes, stepping logs, and concrete tunnels to crawl through or climb over adds an extra layer of excitement for the young explorers.
Sports enthusiasts will be pleased to find a multi-use basketball court at Koala Cove Park. Equipped with three basketball hoops, a netball hoop, and two soccer goals, it’s a hub for active play and friendly competition.
Koala Cove Park also offers plenty of open grassy areas where your little ones can run, kick a footy, or simply roll around to their heart’s content.
What truly sets Koala Cove Park apart, though, is its wonderful celebration of Australian wildlife. As you explore the playground, you’ll come across a charming collection of wooden Australian animals that not only captivate the imagination but also encourage interaction with these unique creatures.
For those who prefer a leisurely afternoon, sheltered picnic and BBQ facilities make it easy to enjoy a relaxing meal amidst the serene surroundings.
As a mum of two active boys, finding the perfect playground that caters to their energy levels and adventurous spirits is always a top priority. Koala Cove Park doesn’t just tick all the boxes; it sets a new standard! We highly recommend visiting.

A bit cookie cutter and lots of rubbish strewn everywhere
What is your family’s favourite park to explore?
Bonus if out east but doesn’t have to be
