Joseph Banks Gardens in Banksia Grove is a huge, nature-inspired park that offers something for every little adventurer. Whether you’re here for a morning play or making a full day of it with a stop at nearby Pitstop Playground, this spot is definitely worth your time—especially if your kids love space to run, ride, and climb.
This park is spread over gentle hills and dips, with bike paths weaving throughout, so don’t forget the bikes or scooters! There are benches placed all around for resting or watching the kids, and shaded picnic tables for snack time. A water fountain is available too—perfect for thirsty explorers.

The playground is cleverly tucked away from the main road, giving families peace of mind and a more relaxed feel. Roadside parking is plentiful, and the playground includes poles for shade nets, though they weren’t up during our visit—so be sun-smart and pack hats and sunscreen.

What’s in the playground? Plenty!
Mini climbing structure with double open slides

A pretend shop for imaginative play

Rope and rock climbing walls

Natural stepping stones

A 5-seater swing set—yes, five kids swinging at once!

A spinning seat and a supernova spinner

Soft-fall flooring for safe play
While there’s no bathroom on-site, you can head to Banksia Grove Shopping Centre (just a short drive away) for restrooms and great coffee at Sip, Hunter & Fleur, or The Coffee Club.
Joseph Banks Gardens is perfect for an active, nature-filled outing—bring the kids, bikes, water bottles, and enjoy a full day outdoors.
