Tucked within the leafy Frasers Landing estate in Coodanup, this bright red Playground really pops against the surrounding bush and water. As you drive along Lakewood Parkway the first thing youโll spot is the striking โbirdโs nestโ tower, which ties in beautifully with the estateโs riverside, nature-focused setting and resident birdlife. It feels like a hidden local gem rather than a big destination Playground, but thereโs still plenty here to keep kids happily exploring.

The main feature is the tall birdโs nest structure. Confident climbers can choose their own adventure to the top, with a rock-climbing wall, net rope ladder and tree-climber style ladder all offering different levels of challenge.

From the first platform, kids shuffle over a wobbly wooden bridge before heading up a rope net to reach the very top.

Their reward is a fun spiral tunnel slide that twists its way back down to the sand โ a real hit with school-aged children and braver younger kids who like a challenge.

For little ones who arenโt quite ready for the full height of the tower, thereโs a smaller slide thatโs much easier to access with a bit of help from an adult.

On the sand below youโll also find a large spinning bowl that can fit a couple of kids at once, perfect for group giggles, and a low balancing rope thatโs great for practising coordination. The mix of lower-level play elements means toddlers and preschoolers arenโt left out while older siblings climb higher.

One of the standout features is the tripod swing, which offers more of a flying, swooping experience than a standard swing set. Kids love taking turns seeing who can go the highest, and it adds another layer of movement play to the space. The entire play area sits in sand, so falls are softened and shoes often come off quickly.

To one side of the main Playground is a sweet little nature play pocket. Here youโll find stepping logs, a simple timber teepee and plenty of logs and trees to climb over and around. Itโs the kind of space that encourages imaginative games โ bush cubbies, โcampfiresโ and animal adventures โ and ties in nicely with Frasers Landingโs broader network of boardwalks, walking trails, lagoon and riverside parklands.

The natural setting is a huge part of the experience here. On one side of the park runs the Serpentine River; locals told us they often spot dolphins cruising past, so itโs worth pausing at the waterโs edge for a look. A wooden pontoon makes it an easy spot to launch kayaks or just sit and watch the river. On the opposite side of the Playground is a pretty lake, home to ducks and other birdlife. A shared path loops around the lake, making this a lovely place for kids to ride scooters or bikes while adults stroll alongside.

Because the Playground is unfenced and both the river and lake are very accessible, this is definitely a spot where close supervision is essential, especially for toddlers and children who tend to wander. Itโs a beautiful, peaceful environment, but youโll want to stay within armโs reach of younger kids near the water.

Families should also be aware that there are no toilets or barbecues at the Playground. There is a sheltered picnic table with bench seating, which is handy for snacks or a simple picnic, but itโs best to come prepared with food, water and a plan for bathroom stops before or after your visit.

While Frasers Landing Playground isnโt huge, it offers a really appealing combination of climbing challenges, nature play and a stunning riverside setting. The bright red birdโs nest tower gives older kids a real sense of adventure, while the lower slide, spinning bowl and nature elements keep younger children engaged. Add in the bike- and scooter-friendly paths around the lake and the chance of dolphin or duck spotting, and youโve got a lovely little outing in Mandurah that feels close to nature without being far from town.
