Tucked into the growing family community of Sienna Wood in Hilbert, this compact prehistoric-themed Playground has been designed especially with under-fives in mind, making it a great option for younger siblings who can sometimes be overwhelmed by larger, busier play spaces.

The park is set at the intersection of Pembina Parade and Brighstone Avenue, and as you arrive you’ll spot the star of the show – a giant T-Rex skeleton structure that little ones can clamber over, under, through and around. It’s low to the ground with lots of different ways to explore, so most confident walkers upwards will find something they can tackle.

Alongside the T-Rex are mini slides perfect for toddlers who are still building their bravery, offering just enough of a thrill without being too high or fast.

A fun feature of Dino Park is the focus on imaginative play. Kids can “don their khakis” and go on a little fossil-hunting expedition around the space, searching for hidden fossils and dinosaur eggs embedded in the landscape. Keen eyes might even spot an egg that’s already hatched. These small details help stretch out a visit beyond just a quick Playground stop, as children get caught up in their own palaeontologist adventures.

For those who love wheels, there’s a tiny pump track with gentle ramps and railings, just right for little scooters and balance bikes rather than big BMX riders. It’s a nice way to introduce younger children to riding on undulating paths without the chaos of large skate parks or busy shared tracks.

There are also “cave man” style swings to keep the dino theme going, giving kids a mix of movement and climbing opportunities throughout their play.

The park is landscaped with plenty of young shady trees and includes a shelter, making it a pleasant spot to bring a picnic or snack and settle in while the kids explore. Shade will only improve as the trees mature. There are no toilets on-site at Dino Park itself; the closest public bathrooms are up at nearby Shipwreck Park, so it’s worth planning a toilet stop there before or after your visit. Mooba Café is also located at Shipwreck Park, which is handy if you want to grab a coffee or treat to take back down to Dino Park.

Dino Park is one of several themed Playgrounds in Sienna Wood. While Explorer Park and Shipwreck Park are better suited to bigger kids and school-aged adventurers, Dino Park really shines as a gentler, toddler-friendly option. It works brilliantly combined with a visit to the other parks: burn off energy at the bigger spaces, then wind down with some fossil hunting and mini slides at Dino Park for the younger ones.
