Delamere Park in Currambine is a fantastic allโrounder for families, with a great mix of play equipment and open space to keep kids active for ages. The main play structures cater well for a wide range of ages, from toddlers through to primaryโschool kids who love to climb and explore.
The central Playground area features two main structures, including a swirly slide, climbing wall and easyโaccess steps. Confident kids will enjoy the small flying fox, parallel monkey bars and various climbing ropes, which are perfect for testing strength and agility or creating their own obstacle courses.

Nearby thereโs a birdsโnest swing as well as a regular swing, great for both individual and shared play, plus a seeโsaw rocker for some classic upโandโdown fun.

Younger children are well catered for in the sandโbased section. This area is ideal for toddlers and keen diggers, with a few hidden surprises like shells and โdinosaur bonesโ buried in the sand to discover.

A small cubbyโstyle play structure encourages imaginative games, with little knobs, levels and a mini slide to explore. There are also low handles around the structure, handy for new walkers who are pulling themselves up and learning to balance.

On the other side of the park, a music and nature play zone adds something a bit different. Set in woodchip, this space lets kids bang on wooden drums, tap on musical pipes and explore a few metal soundโmakers to create their own noisy โconcertโ. Wooden stilts and stepping logs provide a fun challenge for balance and coordination, especially for kindy and early primaryโaged children.

In the middle of Delamere Park is a large amphitheatre-style layout and a huge grassed area. The terraced steps and low walls naturally draw kids in, who love racing up and down, balancing along the edges and inventing chasing and jumping games.

Surrounding this is a smooth pathway thatโs ideal for scooters and bikes, making it a great spot to bring wheels and helmets. The big grassy space is perfect for kicking a footy, throwing a frisbee or even flying a kite on a windy day.
Backing up the excellent play offering are some very handy facilities that make it easy to stay longer. There are two double BBQ plates, shaded picnic tables and plenty of benches scattered throughout the park, making it a good option for casual birthday parties, weekend gatherings or afterโschool meetโups.

Two water fountains are available, and thereโs a toilet block onsite โ always a big tick for families with young kids.

Delamere Park is located along Delamere Avenue, just behind Currambine Central Shopping Centre. It offers both offโroad and onโroad parking and is within easy walking distance of Dome Cafรฉ and other shops, so you can easily grab a coffee or snacks before or after a play. The main drawbacks are that the park sits on a fairly busy road and there is limited shade over much of the play and grassed areas. For this reason, itโs best enjoyed in the cooler parts of the day, with hats, sunscreen and plenty of water. Close supervision is also important around the park edges near the road.

Overall, Delamere Park combines varied play equipment, nature and music elements, and a big open grassed space, making it a versatile and fun spot for families in Perthโs northern suburbs.
