Ahoy! Azure Park Playground is the NEW shipwreck-themed playground located off Azure Terrace in Lake Coogee. This toddler-friendly playground consists of 2 different play areas with nature play elements, a wooden ship structure, an accessible nest swing and even a small scooter path around it.
Little pirates will have fun shouting “Aye, Aye Captain” while steering the helm at the front of the ship! Little ones can get onto the ship deck by using the ramp and crossing a bridge.
The deck is spacious enough to run around with an escape hole in the middle for them to escape down using the climbing net.
Missy 7 preferred using the fireman pole and the climbing ropes to get off the deck.
Toddlers can enjoy their play on the smaller-scale playground, where they can climb around the wooden elements.
The junior slide is perfect for younger toddlers.
Both play areas are on woodchip grounds with balancing wooden logs and rocks around for children to explore.
The accessible nest swing is on spacious ground with plenty of room for the children to swing around.
Bring along a scooter, and toddlers can have a scooter around the scooter path. Small humps are found along the path for some extra excitement for the little one’s ride!
BBQ facilities and a water fountain are found in this playground, and seating is shaded with sail shades. Limited free street parking is available along the road, and there are no public toilets here.
And while you are there, don’t forget to check out the Lake Coogee Reserve, which is just a stone’s throw away from this playground! Just a short walk away from the playground, we walked across the bridge with a stunning view of Lake Coogee. This lake forms part of the western chain of wetlands in the Beeliar Regional Park, which includes Manning Lake, Binijar Reserve, Boodjar Mooliny Reserve and Market Garden Park.
Take a hike along the trail with your hiking shoes or bike (the whole trail takes about an hour to complete), and you might spot some of the native birds and plants along your way.
