OceanXperience

Step aboard a recreation of the OceanXplorer research vessel and take on missions inspired by real ocean expeditions. Explore interactive displays and try thinking like an ocean scientist. These school holidays are the final chance to experience the exhibition!
OceanXperience: Family Night
Saturday 3 October | 5.30pm–9pm
Entry at 5.30pm or 7.30pm | All ages
Make family night an ocean adventure with after-hours exhibition access, glowing ocean lantern making, jellyfish crafts, puzzles and games. Family tickets are $75 for two adults and two juniors, or one adult and three juniors.
Ocean Archaeology: Beneath the Surface
Tuesday 6 October | 10am–4pm
Ages 8–12 | $90 per participant | Drop and leave
A shipwreck mystery needs solving! Young archaeologists will excavate a simulated seabed, examine artefacts and piece together clues before creating their own mini museum display.
Deadly Arts & Storytelling
Wednesday 7 October | 10am–1pm
Ages 8–12 | $45 per participant | Drop and leave
Join respected Nyoongar man Derek Nannup for a morning of culture, creativity and storytelling. Children will explore traditional tools and materials, help build a kalak (winter shelter) and create something to take home.

Located in Perth’s Cultural Centre, WA Museum Boola Bardip (‘many stories’ in Whadjuk Nyoongar language) is Western Australia’s state-of-the-art museum showcasing the state’s cultural and natural heritage. The $400 million facility seamlessly blends historic and contemporary architecture, featuring eight permanent exhibitions exploring WA’s people, places, and role in the world. Highlights include the iconic Otto the Blue Whale skeleton in Hackett Hall, interactive displays, and extensive Aboriginal cultural exhibits.
