Transport heritage is a strong cultural theme at Whiteman Park. This includes the Motor Museum of WA, Tractor Museum of WA, Bus Preservation Society of WA, and the Perth Electric Tramway Association. The Bennett Brook Railway runs train rides in the school holidays, and special Ashley and Friends Days throughout the year.
Castledare Miniature Railway
Castledare Miniature Railway operate train rides from their two different stations in Wilson on the first and third Sundays of the month. Check their website or Facebook page to confirm operating times and when special runs are scheduled before you go.
Stirling Miniature Railway
Stirling Miniature Railway in Balcatta, operated by passionate volunteers, runs on the last Sunday of each month. The engines are a mix of diesel and steam trains, sure to delight any little train lover! Pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it. Run entirely by volunteers, the railway features historic steam trains (operating mid-May to mid-September) and diesel locomotives. Operating hours are Wednesday-Thursday (11am-1pm), weekends and public holidays (11am-4pm), and school holidays (10am-2pm).
