Baldivis has quietly become a bit of a Playground paradise, and Brightwood Adventure Park is one of the biggest drawcards. Set within the Brightwood estate on Solis Boulevard, this $3 million community park packs in a towering climbing structure, multiple slides, flying foxes, swings, nature play, scooter track and more – all wrapped in plenty of open green space for picnics and ball games. According to the developer, the park has been designed not just for kids, but as a space where the whole community can play and exercise together, with outdoor fitness equipment and BBQ areas dotted around the reserve.

The centrepiece of the Playground is the incredible 13‑metre-high sphere tower. Brightly coloured and visible from a distance, it’s definitely one for brave climbers. The structure is made up of three “ball” levels connected by rope tunnels and climbing nets.

Younger children can aim for the lower orange sphere, while older kids (and game parents!) can push on to the very top.

From there, they can choose between two huge slides: a 7.8m straight slide and a twisting tube slide that stretches an impressive 13.4m back down to the sand. It’s a real thrill and a great confidence booster for kids who love a challenge.

Around the base of the tower, a generous sand play area gives toddlers and younger children plenty to do at ground level. There’s a sand digger, double rocker, soft-fall steppers and various sensory elements to explore.

Large planter pots with trees are gradually maturing, adding shade to the seating scattered around the edge so parents and carers can relax while keeping a close eye on the action. The soft sand also makes this a good spot for kids who like to dig, build and play more quietly while siblings tackle the big climbs.
A short wander away, the nature play zone offers a more organic style of play. Here you’ll find boulders, timber stepping logs with colourful insets, a small bridge, a viking-style group swing and a wooden cubby structure with ropes to climb. It’s a lovely space for imaginative play – kids can turn it into a fort, a castle, or a jungle base – and it adds plenty of variety beyond standard Playground equipment.

Behind this area there’s a swing set with three swings: two with front bars that suit older toddlers through to bigger kids, and a toddler bucket seat for little ones who need extra support.

One of the biggest hits at Brightwood is the 40‑metre dual flying fox. It features one standard pommel seat and one all-abilities harness seat, making it easier for younger children and some kids with additional needs to join in. Having two cables side by side means siblings or friends can launch together and race to the end, which adds a lot of excitement and helps keep the queue moving.

There’s also a dedicated toddler and early-years play area, ideal if you’re visiting with under‑5s. This zone features a small birds nest swing, tactile and sensory panels, a bright soft-fall caterpillar with a crawl-through tunnel, a spinning cup and an inclusive roller table.

The roller table is a standout – kids can lie on it and pull themselves along, sit and be pushed by a friend, or incorporate it into imaginative games. It’s a good example of equipment that invites all sorts of movement and works for a range of abilities.

Brightwood Adventure Park was developed in two stages, and the original section (opened in 2017) is still very much worth exploring. Here you’ll find a large rope-web climbing frame with a big red slide, a roundabout, an oodle swing, a saddle spinner, a stand‑up seesaw and more soft-fall steppers. This area tends to appeal to primary school-aged kids who enjoy slightly more traditional Playground equipment but still want a decent climbing challenge.

Just beyond is a great little scooter and small-bike track that loops around the play space – perfect if you remember to pack wheels.

For grown‑ups and older teens, one of the nice additions highlighted by the developer is the outdoor fitness equipment dotted around the Brightwood parks, including near the adventure park itself. These simple gym stations mean you can fit in a quick workout or stretch while the kids play, or turn a Playground visit into a whole-family exercise session. The combination of play equipment, open lawns, walking paths and outdoor gym gear helps the park work as a genuine community hub rather than “just” a Playground.
Facilities are generally good for a longer stay. Across the two stages you’ll find several large, shaded picnic shelters with tables, free BBQs and power, as well as a drinking fountain that includes a built-in dog bowl, making it easy to bring the family pet along.

There are generous grassy areas for picnics, frisbee and kicking a footy, and some street parking along Solis Boulevard. While there isn’t a café directly overlooking the Playground, Stockland Baldivis and a range of drive‑through and dine‑in options are only a short drive away if you need coffee or snacks before or after your visit.

As with any largely open park, shade continues to improve as plantings mature, but hats, sunscreen and water are still essential, especially on hot days.
With its towering sphere structure, long slides, nature play, flying fox and scooter track, Brightwood Adventure Park has something to challenge thrill-seekers and entertain toddlers alike. Combined with BBQs, outdoor gym equipment and big grassy areas, it’s an excellent choice for a morning play, a birthday catch‑up or a casual family picnic in Perth’s southern suburbs.
