Join us for a creative and practical workshop with Elise Hinkley from Hoop Hoop Hooray, where teens and parents will learn how to give their clothes a fresh new life! This hands-on session is all about transforming and repairing garments using visible mending techniques like appliqué, embroidery, and sashiko.

Whether you’re a total beginner or already love to sew, this collaborative workshop welcomes all skill levels. Elise will guide you through the basics and beyond, helping you build confidence while sharing tips in a fun, supportive environment. Connect with others who care about sustainability, creativity, and making clothes last.

This is not a ‘drop and leave’ event. All people under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible parent/carer. Parents/carers are responsible for the safety and well-being of children at all times.

There are two types of parent tickets availble.

• Participating Adult Tickets for those who would like to take part in the workshop
• Non-participating Adult Tickets for those who will be remaining on site but not take part in the workshop.

What you’ll get

All workshop materials (including Sashiko needle and thread) and notes so that you can continue mending and revamping your clothes at home.

Length

~3 hour workshop with guidance from Elise to do your own projects.

Event activities will start on time, but if you are running late, you may still join.
