Summer Sounds is back at Honeywood Oval this October, bringing you an afternoon of live music, great food and free family fun – with something extra to explore this time around.

The City of Kwinana is teaming up with the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) to bring Bushfire Community Day to Summer Sounds, adding interactive emergency services displays, demonstrations and practical bushfire information to the day.

Come down from 12pm and make an afternoon of it. Grab a bite to eat, explore the activities and displays, then find a spot on the grass and settle in for Summer Sounds live music from 2pm–5pm.

What’s happening?

Alongside everything you love about Summer Sounds, there will be plenty to see and do throughout the day.

DFES, local brigades and emergency services will be bringing the action with fire trucks and emergency services displays, hose demonstrations, brigade activities, Firewise gardening information and the RAC Rescue Helicopter experience.

You’ll also be able to chat with bushfire experts and learn some simple ways to prepare your family, home and property ahead of bushfire season.

For the kids, there’s a great line-up of activities planned, including face painting, bushfire virtual reality, a firefighter obstacle course, rock climbing, Critters Up Close, hose activities and more.

City of Kwinana teams including Community Safety and Rangers will also be there with information and services for the community.

Activities and participating agencies are subject to final confirmation.

Live music from 2pm

From 2pm–5pm, Summer Sounds takes centre stage with live music.

Grab something delicious from the food trucks, bring your picnic rug or chairs and settle in for an hour of live music on the lawn.

The Summer Sounds Food Passport will also be back, giving you another way to enjoy some of the food on offer from participating vendors. Keep an eye out for more Food Passport details closer to the event.

The partnership with DFES means this Summer Sounds is about more than music and entertainment. While you’re enjoying a great afternoon out, you can meet the people who help keep our community safe and pick up practical information that could help you prepare for bushfire season.
