Discovery Time
Join us for Discovery Time, a 30-minute early-learning session for children under 5 at the WA Museum Boola Bardip. Young explorers can engage with museum objects and tactile artifacts through hands-on activities designed to spark imagination and curiosity. Each session features a unique theme and location, so check with the information desk upon arrival to find out where the fun begins.

Little Learners: My World
For young explorers aged 2-5, Little Learners: My World offers a captivating program of discovery and exploration. This series of sessions, led by expert educators, focuses on self-discovery and understanding one’s place in the world through engaging museum objects, stories, play, and movement activities. The program encourages environmental care and fosters a sense of identity in young learners.

Little Learners: Curious Minds
Curious Minds invites children aged 2-5 to explore STEM concepts through hands-on activities, craft, and storytelling. This program, tied to the Early Years Learning framework, encourages curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. Each week features a new concept to investigate, with 45 minutes of educator-led activities and 15 minutes for a museum visit related to the session’s focus.

To the Moon: Story Time

On Monday mornings during the school term, families can explore the To the Moon exhibition with their little ones. The Under 5s Play area offers a variety of activities including astronaut yoga, kinetic sand play, and space-themed stories, all within a special “moonbase” play zone. Educators will lead songs, rhymes, and play sessions while adults can enjoy short exhibition talks. The play area is open from 9:30am to noon for a flexible drop-in experience.

Plus, learn valuable tips on how to attract reptiles to your own backyard!
