The UWA Conservatorium of Music’s Junior Music School offers group music classes and individual lessons for children, set within the University of Western Australia’s vibrant campus environment.
Programs are designed to nurture musical potential from toddler to pre-teen:
- Music Playground (18 months – 5 years) – Parent–child group classes (Toddlers, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten) held on Saturday mornings, using singing, movement and percussion to build early rhythm, listening and musical confidence.
- Classes for 5–12 years – Progressive group musicianship programs (Soundscapes, Soundbird, Firebird, Phoenix) that combine singing, percussion, ukulele/xylophone, reading and writing music, composition and choir work.
- Individual tuition (all ages, including adults) – One-to-one lessons available for a wide range of instruments and voice, plus music theory.
Lessons are taught by experienced tertiary-level educators, giving families access to a high-quality, research-informed music education pathway.
