If youโre looking for an activity that helps little ones burn energy while learning focus and discipline, ATI Martial Arts in Joondalup is a fantastic choice. Although they have other branches across Perth (Claremont, Malaga, Midvale, Ellenbrook), we joined the Little Dragons program (ages 3โ6) at Joondalup and itโs been such a positive experience.

From the very first class, our son was hooked. The program is designed for young children and combines fun with age-appropriate martial arts and self-defence skills. Weโve noticed improvements in his confidence, listening skills, and willingness to try new challenges. He especially loves earning achievement tags for new skills, which keeps him excited to return each week.

The sign-up process was smooth. You can book a free trial class, and if you register straight after, the $50 admin fee is waived. Fees are $36 per week for unlimited sessions (classes run daily except Sundays). We also purchased the starter gear: uniform and belt ($85), plus the safety equipment set with bag ($259).

The trial class is small and personalised (Floor B), but once signed up, children join the larger Floor A group, which is well run with plenty of instructor support.

Parents can watch through glass panels in the waiting area, with bathrooms and a small snack/drink counter available. Parking is designated for ATI, which makes it easy to park close by and always have a spot to park.

We also love that ATI offers more than just classesโbirthday parties, private lessons, and important safety education (like stranger danger and self-protection skills). Itโs clear their programs are about more than martial arts; theyโre about preparing kids for life.

After just a month, weโve already seen growth in our child and couldnโt recommend ATI Martial Arts enough for families.
