The Edge Playground in Baldivis is a gorgeous nature play space located within The Edge estate, and still feels like a bit of a hidden gem. Set along Beaufortia Crescent, the Playground combines natural timbers, native landscaping and creative design to create a really engaging space for kids to explore, climb and balance. It’s part of a wider community development with parks, an oval and a primary school nearby, so it feels like a true neighbourhood hub rather than a standalone Playground.
As you arrive, the first thing you’ll spot is the impressive timber fort under the shade of a mature tuart tree. This fort is the centrepiece of the Playground, built from chunky natural logs with steps and a ladder leading up to a raised platform. From here, a chainlink bridge climbs to the very top of the structure, adding an element of adventure for confident climbers.
Kids will love discovering the talking tube at the top – it’s connected to another tube over near the natural climbing log and slide, so they can send secret messages back and forth across the play space.
All of the play equipment has been designed in keeping with the nature play theme. The structures are made primarily from wood and are seamlessly connected via landscaping, garden beds of native plants and log steps at varying heights. Children naturally move from one zone to another via balance beams, stepping logs and uneven surfaces, which is fantastic for building coordination, strength and confidence.
Beside the fort is a shaded seating area, making it easy for parents and carers to keep an eye on the action. Just beyond this you’ll find a large nest swing that’s always popular with a mix of ages and abilities, as well as a second swing designed for younger children with a supportive safety harness. Kids can fill a tyre or bucket with sand, hoist it up using the pulley, then tip and funnel it down the chute over and over again. Next to the table is a built‑in bench that doubles as a “sand kitchen”, perfect for pretend cooking and cooperative play. This area tends to be a magnet for younger children who will happily spend ages engrossed in moving, pouring and building with sand.
The Playground extends beyond the immediate play structures, with extra activities dotted through the reserve. There’s a maze and hopscotch grid built into the paths, encouraging kids to keep exploring and moving.

You can sit under the shelter or find a shady patch under the surrounding tuart trees while the kids play. However, it’s important to note that there are no toilets. The nearest amenities are at the Baldivis Shopping Centre, which is only a two‑minute drive away and handy for grabbing a takeaway coffee before or after your park visit. Parking around the park is generally easy, with plenty of street bays close to the play area.
