If you are on the hunt for a fantastic new spot to explore with the kids east of Perth, Corti Park in Midland has recently unveiled an exciting Playground upgrade that is well worth checking out. Tucked away between Charles Street and North Street, this community green space has completely swapped out its tired old play equipment for a bright, modern playspace designed to suit children of all ages.
Harvey and I visited recently to check out the new setup, and it immediately won us over with its thoughtful balance of traditional play gear and open-ended nature play. The focal point of the Playground is an impressive, modern climbing and play structure featuring platforms, ladders, and balancing challenges that will test the coordination of adventurous little ones.

Alongside the main fort, children will find classic favourites including swings, spinners, and seesaws, ensuring there is plenty of movement and action to burn off that boundless energy.

What truly sets this playspace apart are the lovely nature-play elements woven throughout the area. Kids can scramble over natural boulders, balance along stepping logs, and dive straight into imaginative tactile fun with the sand play zone and diggers. The sand and timber details give the park a grounded, relaxed feel where you can comfortably step back and let your little explorers lead the way on their own mini adventures.

Parents and carers have clearly been kept in mind with this upgrade. Situated right beside the Playground is a set of adult outdoor gym equipment, making it super easy to squeeze in a quick workout or stretch while keeping a watchful eye on the play area.
Older kids, teens, and strategy-loving grown-ups will also appreciate the permanent chess tables installed in the park. Be sure to tuck a set of chess pieces into your bag if your family enjoys sitting down for a game in the fresh air.
The park amenities make settling in for a morning or afternoon outing very comfortable. New pathways and landscaping connect the spaces smoothly, and you will find a drinking fountain with cold water on hand to refill drink bottles. Seating is well catered for, with bench seating nestled underneath established leafy trees as well as a sheltered picnic table and bench set. The natural tree canopy offers welcome shade for parents wanting to sit back with a takeaway coffee while the kids run wild.
Beyond the Playground border, Corti Park features a wide expanse of open grassy space equipped with soccer goals and bordered by mature shade trees. It is a fantastic setting to bring along a soccer ball, kick around on the lawn, spread out a picnic rug, and enjoy an affordable local day out with the family. Whether you are after a quick play stop or an afternoon of climbing and kicking a ball, Corti Park is a wonderful new addition to add to your Midland Playground list.
