Save the date – Pups in the Park is back! The City of Melville’s MelSafe team invites you, your family, friends, neighbours and special guests – your pooches – to join us for a day out at the park.

What to look forward to

  • Be one of the first 200 visitors to the City of Melville’s MelSafe stall and pick up a free Doggy Bag.
  • Enjoy free face painting for the kids.
  • Browse more than 20 dog-related businesses offering products, services and advice for pet owners.
  • Sit, stay and say “cheese!” or “walkies!” at our pup-friendly selfie frame and capture a fun photo with your furry friend.
  • Watch Agile Dogs in action, or let your pooch have a go at navigating tunnels, jumps, weave poles and more on the agility course.
  • Grab a bite to eat from a range of delicious food trucks while you enjoy the day’s activities.

Program

10.00am – Event opens

10.30am – The art and science of dog behaviour

Join Dr Cathy Lau (Positive Elements Behaviour Vet) for a fascinating and practical discussion on dog behaviour.

11.00am – Agile dogs in action

Watch talented dogs and their handlers tackle tunnels, jumps, weave poles and more in this exciting demonstration of the Agile Dogs agility course.

12noon – Pooch Parade

The crowd favourite is back! Dress up your pup and join the Pooch Parade for your chance to show off your pup’s personality and win some great prizes.

Register your pooch at the City of Melville’s MelSafe stall by 11.30am. The Parade starts at 12noon.

The MelSafe stall will have the following services:

  • Information about registering your dog – first time, renewals, change of ownership or address. Register your pet for life to be in the running to win a $100 PetBarn voucher!
  • Information about where you can take your dog off and on leash.
  • Lost children/pets, First Aid Post, emergency response unit, extra poop bags.
  • Registration for the Pooch Parade.

*Please note this is an on-lead event – dogs are to remain on a lead at all times.
