Whitfords West Park, Kallaroo

In early 2026, an impressive $1.3m upgrade to Whitfords West Park brought a new pump and jump track to the northern ‘burbs. Found opposite Westfield Whitfords shopping centre, there’s plenty of fun to be had on two wheels, plus there’s a flying fox and playground to cover all bases.

The three tracks features a circuit of rollers, berms and jumps for BMX bikes, mountain bikes and scooters, catering to riders of all ages and skill levels. Riders can challenge themselves, build confidence, and enjoy getting active outdoors.

We stood a while watching the older kids on the Whitfords West Park jump track and it was so impressive – with quite a few of them getting some serious airtime. 

The girls, Miss M (13) and Miss L (9), were happiest on the flying fox and dipping their toes into the two smaller pump tracks, though they took it easy, having forgot their helmets. 

There were lots of little kids on the Junior pump track, a great place to start.

The girls took advantage of there being no queue on the flying fox. It was a decent zip line, with a little speed and a boingy, bouncy action. 

For little one’s there’s a traditional sand-fall metal play set, with lots of opportunities to climb, slide and balance. 

There’s a twin swing set – with a swing and toddler swing. And a spinny thing – which don’t spin so well – maybe it needs some maintenance. 

Close by, there’s also a little nature play, with a giant log and smaller stepping logs around, plus plenty of grass. 

Like to shoot hoops? Bring a ball along to make the most of the basketball half court.

There’s a netball area too.

There’s a few covered tables, water fountains and barbecue facilities, but no toilets. Of course, Whitfords is right across the road, but not ideal if you have bikes with you. 

Parking wasn’t easy, with a little street parking on Brightwater Drive. You could park at the shopping centre, though again, this might be a faff if you have bikes on the car. 

All in all, this playground is fab for kids of all ages, especially that hard to please tweens – teens age. A great addition to the area.
