Fairway Park in Connolly is the kind of neighbourhood gem families get excited about โ and for good reason. Tucked within a quiet residential pocket but conveniently close to the freeway, itโs an easy option for a relaxed day out or the perfect second stop if youโre planning a double-park adventure paired with a visit to Cafรฉ 28 for coffee or lunch.

Access is straightforward, though thereโs no dedicated car park. The easiest entry is via Cypress Point Retreat, a quiet dead-end street that leads directly to the park. From there, itโs just a short stroll into the main play area. While there are no toilet facilities on site, there is a water fountain to refill drink bottles, several benches, and a non-shaded picnic table where families can sit and supervise while the kids burn off energy.

The layout of Fairway Park blends traditional sand play zones with areas of soft-fall rubber, giving toddlers a safer surface to toddle and tumble on, while still providing enough challenge for more confident climbers up to around 10โ12 years.

The play equipment feels modern and thoughtfully refreshed. Younger children will love the low-level play panel with steering wheel and gears, the kangaroo springer and double-seat springer, as well as the spinning bowl and spica spinner for kids who enjoy a bit of a whirl.

A basket swing and traditional double swing cater to different ages and abilities, making it easy for siblings to play side by side. The colour wheel spinner and rattle roller wheel add extra sensory interest and visual fun, encouraging curious little hands to touch, spin, and explore.

The main play structure is the star attraction and will keep primary-aged kids entertained for a good stretch. It features two play towers connected by a rope wall bridge, with stairs providing easy access for younger children. From the top platforms, three open slides of varying lengths provide plenty of whooshing fun.

A rope climbing chute and rock climbing wall offer more challenging ways up or down for confident climbers, while two mini hammocks create cosy little nooks for kids to chill out between bursts of activity. The whole structure feels vibrant, bright, and inviting, with lots of opportunities for climbing, balancing, sliding, and imaginative play.

Classic suburban pathways loop around the park, ideal for scooters, small bikes, and prams. For adults wanting to make the most of their visit, thereโs also a compact fitness equipment zone where you can squeeze in a light workout while keeping an eye on the kids.

Fairway Park is not fenced, so close supervision is needed for little runners, and there are currently no shade sails over the Playground equipment or picnic areas, so hats and sunscreen are a must on sunny days. Despite these minor drawbacks, the parkโs fresh upgrade has transformed it into a lively, welcoming community space that feels well worth a visit โ whether youโre a local looking for a new after-school favourite or visiting the area and wanting to stretch little legs between errands or outings.
