If you’re looking for a new park to explore with the kids, Napoli Park in Catalina Beach, Mindarie is well worth a visit. Located at the end of Portofino Promenade, this 1.62-hectare park is a beautifully designed space with plenty to offer for families. With a mix of adventure, nature, and relaxation, it’s a great spot for kids to burn off energy while parents unwind.
The playground is packed with fun and interactive elements. A multi-level play tower sits at the heart of the space, complete with climbing nets and a fireman’s pole for little daredevils.
Nearby, two smaller open slides provide a fun and easy way down for younger children.
A flying fox stretches across part of the park, offering a thrill for those who love a bit of speed, while a round swing and roundabout add to the excitement.
The playground also features interactive games and a pretend play shop, perfect for sparking imaginative play.
The mix of balancing logs, rocks, and a mini maze creates a more natural play experience, encouraging kids to climb, jump, and explore.
For those who enjoy sensory play, the sand and water play areas are a must-visit, be sure to keep an eye out for the bees by the water!
Beyond the playground, Napoli Park offers plenty of green space for picnics, morning tea, or simply lounging under the shade. There is a grassed area that sits lower than the road, making it feel more secluded and safe for families. The park also includes shaded picnic tables, a BBQ area, and a separate exercise zone, so parents can fit in a workout while the kids play.
A few things to note before planning your visit—there are no bathroom facilities, as they were not approved in the park’s design, so it’s best to plan accordingly. Parking is also limited as the area is still under development. Given Perth’s warm climate, it’s best to visit either in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat – some shading is available throughout the playground.
Napoli Park officially opened in October 2024 and has quickly become a fantastic spot for families in Mindarie and beyond. Whether your kids love climbing, swinging, or getting messy in the sand, there’s something here for everyone. Plus, it’s wheelchair accessible, ensuring all visitors can enjoy this beautiful space. If you haven’t been yet, grab a picnic blanket, pack some snacks, and head over for a fun-filled day!
