Have you heard about the new housing estate in Jandakot? The Glen Iris estate sounds like a nature lovers dream and with future parks still to be built, we’ll be back to tell you more in the future too!
Located directly off Dean Road in Jandakot, where the Glen Iris golf course used to be, is a BRAND NEW nature-themed playground.
I took my three kids to check it out, along with a sunset dinner, and it was nothing short of amazing. The first thing you notice is the beautifully landscaped gardens and the leafy trees that surround the park; there is plenty of grass space, perfect for kicking the ball around on or simply rolling out the picnic rug.
My sons favourite part of the playground was the twin tunnels that go under the smaller but super fast concrete slide, you can crawl straight through or climb the ladder up through the opening.
There is a slide here, too, which is great for the younger kids who canโt climb up to access the bigger slide, and it has a fun wooden climbing ladder that takes you to the top.
There is a nest swing, balancing poles, a really fun wooden walking beam set up around a tree, a balancing rope walk, monkey bars, a stand-up spinner and of course, the big tunnel slide, which you can climb either a net or a ladder up to.
In this section, there is also a firemanโs pole, a pair of talk tubes and a pair of binoculars to take in the view.
There are no BBQs or toilets at this stage but there are shaded seating areas and a water fountain with a doggy bowl for the fur babies. The park is surrounded by a nice flat path, which is great if you have scooter or bike-loving children!
